Mud Flaps Removed rear fender support hangs low

Removed the mud flaps from truck. Fronts were no problem, I even put the bolts back in place. But the back is also a rear fender support and hangs down low. Maybe someone here has done this and came up with a simple solution like a support form another truck. Looking for something that goes from fender straight to bottom of the bed that wouldn't be as visible.

Just throwing this out there, but it looks like you might be able to flip it upside down and bend/twist the tabs accordingly , or otherwise tweak it in a manner where its out of the way but still connects the two sides. Maybe a lil hand torch and some bending devices (pliers,pry bar, hammer).

If you or a buddy has a welder and/or torch it would very easy to modify them/make your own. And fun!

Thx, was thinking about all of these things. Walked junkyard last week looking for a center console but was just looking at other trucks trying to come up with something. Found a Ranger with a normal bed, had support on cab side of wheel well but with a nut showing on the outside. Other side of truck was already gone so I didn't bother taking it off. Maybe next time I go I will look a little more. Still wondering if this weird shape does any support for the fender, the fender is not metal like the rest of the body. Can I just take it off? I'm thinking no, but before I do I thought I would ask.

Long Story short, yes you can just take them off, I just didnt wanna sound like a caveman mechanic suggesting that...but its factory overkill if u ask me...as a kid we would hack and chuck em first thing along the way to doing bed and bumper mods etc..not like lack of a fender support will cause detrimental damage, you can always try it out, and if you feel or hear a concern, then maybe look into alternative solutions.

I'd either leave them on or make some new ones that don't hang down, if the fender is braced "too much" you'll never know, if it isn't supported enough you'll kick your own butt when you find out. Mine are still in place and hanging down.

What about just getting some OE type fender braces.

I would just cut the zig and the zag out... a little heat and bend the ends til they meet... weld.

Its surprisingly easy to bend/manipulate this stuff with a little heat, MAP gas should make short work of it.
