Moving the Seat Tracks

Greetings all, I'm a tall gentleman, and with the drivers seat all the way back, I still cramped. Are there any options (aftermarket, home grown, ...) to move the Driver's seat back few inches without major surgery?

I'm not sure I've ever seen parts available to do this... or any how to info where someone has done it.

Depending on your seat content I would think it's possible with some time and effort.

Good luck and if you come up with something that works... be sure to share for others in the same position.

Probably not as the seats are anchored where they are for crash protection standards and it's not like you can simply safely drill new holes a few inches back.
Some of the Jeep parts houses have what they call Big Boy seat adapters that will lift and move rearward the bucket seats in a CJ-5. You might be able to adapt those or fabricate something similar but I can't say how safe they'd be in event of a crash.

Like John said ..more then an inch and it's out of design I intention.


But. Using 1/8 in angle ..I would not think twice about putting it where you need it.

And many of my roofs are wrinkled up.

True. Bobby might be one of the few here taller than me. I'm not super-tall but I'm all legs. Anything I get in, the seat just automatically goes all the way back and as low as it can go and maybe tipped up a little in the front.

I've often thought moving the drivers seat back another 2 inches would be optimal in our 2019 SuperCab. My right knee currently bangs into the center section of the dash. I'm hoping to do this in the spring unless there is something that prevents it.

I bought and installed extensions for my '69 Camaro back in 2007. They are made from (2) individual pieces of channel formed from steel sheet stock. Each bar has (2) through holes to mount the bars to the floor, and (2) nuts tig welded to the bar to bolt the seats to.

I took a look at the seat on our SuperCab. As with everything these days.... geeze, complication for the sake of complication. This cannot be done simply by adding a spacer, from what I can see.
