I looked at the interior online and was disgusted to see the huge touch screen. There should be no controls in a vehicle that you can't operate by feel without looking at them. Touch screens don't belong in vehicles. Maybe with less distracting stuff they could eliminate self braking and collision avoidance crap that causes the price to sky rocket. Of course, that would require the driver to pay attention....
But it does have a bottle opener....

7 speed manual is only available with the 2.3 it looks like. So now in a few years we can 7 speed swap the 19-20 ranger.
What I find interesting is that the 7 speed manual is listed as standard equipment on 4 of the 7 trim levels. You just may see a few of these to do just that.

I'm an automatic guy... I was hoping I wouldn't have to pay extra for it.

I honestly think they are going to sell a bunch of what has been referred to as "BaseQuatch" ... and if I was to order one today... my deposit would have been on just that. Here is the thing... this BaseQuatch by the numbers beats anything Jeep makes across the board. Well played Ford!

I'm on Bronco overload... must cut grass... must get busy on my current rig.

I'm just stoked it's there to actually see and configure... and I will say it again.... this Next Gen Ranger is probably going to hit the market in a big way and be the one to beat.

Push button start is probably easier to waterproof than a keyed ignition cylinder. Just a membrane sealed switch.

The touch screen seems a little overly fancy but it's not the kind of thing I'll get worked up over. I put one in my wife's car and grew to love it for navigation purposes, and the ability to add a backup camera is just icing on the cake.

And it probably won't be a full time outdoor environment like a old CJ or the stuff I normally deal with either.

Nobody is going to think "its supposed to rain today but I don't feel like putting the top on" It is going to be more "were did that shower come from!?"

I mean... I might think that.

But I'm demonstrably ridiculous about all sorts of things.

I would like a absolutely bare bones version without all the fancy tech but its probably mandatory for the suspension to function. I also know a jeep guy most his life thats all he drove. He likes it but he wonders just how expensive the aftermarket stuff is gonna be.

Also for how much I like it. I dont know what you would even add to the vehicle. It seems rather basic on the surface even the interior fancy screen.... I get it, I get it waterproof interior should be basic... the outside looks great the interior leaves something missing for me.

Makes me wonder what the Jeep people think. My daughter just leased a 4-door Wrangler, and not she wants a Bronco.
I'll give you my two cents: I'm glad to see some wrangler competition out there. I think Jeep has gotten pretty lazy over the past few years, especially with the JL. It doesn't offer much over the JK I have now.

It's awesome to see that you can add all of the offroad capabilities to the base bronco without all the foo-foo of the higher trim options. Not sure how the IFS will perform off the beaten path. Although I'm sure most people won't take it off the pavement. Similar to many of my jeep counterparts, and me 95% of the time... I want that HEMI Jeep announced in my two door though so I can climb up some hills on my rear wheels  The Bronco looks amazing but currently does not leave me wanting to trade in my jeep anytime soon. Maybe in a few years after the initial kinks are worked out and the jeep is paid off.

For reference... this is the same Bronco as above. The gentleman in the truck states he is 5'10". Says the Bronco is huge.

I also read that the rumors of a Bronco Pick up are just that... rumors.

Ford says they are going to focus those efforts on the New Ranger.

Basing the new Ranger off this platform sounds like a win in my book.
