My credo
Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Guess I am lucky because a few young homeless cats have called the outside of my place home. They are quite the predators and spent a lot of time under my truck. Don't worry, I always scare them off when I start it. So there is your solution. Get some local predators!
We have two strays that the neighbors feed that we see around our place when it's dark out. There just not doing a good enough job lol. Gotta tell the neighbors to feed them less 😅

Got one!

I was about to say... the bastards can probably smell the brown coffee lid plugs that litter my passenger floor... but if all the wires are insulated in soy I doubt they make a difference -__-

Also kinda surprised it's a brown mouse. Usually it's the gray ones that get in everything around here
I knew when I changed the cabin air filter the first time, and there were aspen leaves laying on it, that vermin would have no problem accessing the cab.

Question: Could a fella simply cut a piece of metal screen door material the same size as the cabin air filter, and place it on top of the filter, and slide it into place? Wouldn't that fix the issue?

Another tip... don't leave food in the cab, that's what attracts them. From the picture you posted with all the coffee cup plugs laying on the floor, that's probably the root cause @Blmpkn.

Here in bear country... that's much more important...

The wire mesh will help but there are so many openings a mouse can fit into in the body of a vehicle, it would be near impossible to plug them all. All they need is a hole the size of a dime to get in.

My credo
the grey-t escape
one time I found a mouse hole chewed through on the boot of my hurst shifter, found no other mouse evidence in the cab thankfully. I have a few local cats prowling at night, set up some food & water under a old aluminum truck cap as a feeding station, always keep water there but dont set food out but about every 3 days. I set up a trail cam to see who is visiting. Ive seen 2 different cats, a mouse, a possum & the neighbors dog.
