Unless you see obvious signs of tularemia its safe to eat them as long as you cook them thoroughly. Tularemia is fairly rare anyway. With ticks/fleas, if you find them heavily infested discard them but they come off when you skin them and cooked properly you still kill any tick borne diseases. I just check them and if they look healthy and don't have hoards of ticks I have no concern with cooking them. I just always cook any wild game more than I ever would store bought meat.

They have zero fat so they are actually a really healthy meat.

IMHO... all the more reason to just not feed the deer.
Or if more people did they wouldn't congregate as much at spots where grain/salt is available otherwise...

Personally all I have "out" is a big pile of crap where the combine plugged up. Some stalks, some ground up cobs, some partially shelled cobs and loose corn. I haven't been out to see if anybody has even been nosing thru it.

Now rabbits I will shoot once in a while because they are delicious and easy to clean. But they never cause any problems on my property. I have no lawn or gardens I care about them destroying and I've never had them chew up anything. Chipmunks and squirrels however are my mortal enemy and chew on everything.

Coyotes are a big issue not only for going after my chickens and ducks, but they freaking piss on everything. My goats usually keeps them away though. Coyotes are terrified of goats. One of my goats was yelling one night and I heard a commotion outside, when I went to check the goat had blood dripping off its horns. Pretty sure it killed the coyote but I neve found it. Big momma goat even attacked my friends horse once.
Donkeys are good at running off coyotes too...

Those things seem cruel. I'd rather shoot them and put them down quickly and humanely if necessary.

Hunting 'yotes is a pretty popular sport out here. Call them in with rabbit noises or snipe them at long range. People buy the pelts... the state was also offering a reward for tails on those, foxes, racoons and some other predators last year because they were hurting wild bird populations by stealing eggs from nests.

I'm not real big into trapping, I think it's kinda cruel too but I don't have a problem with those that do it.

Loading a sack of grain onto a donkey is more difficult than it looks.

Trapping allows one to "hunt" many locations at the same time... 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Much more effective then shooting one when you see it when trying removing nuisance coyotes/predator animals. The end result is usually the same.

We came across two big parties of coyote hunters when I was on my pickup box run over the weekend.

I don't have a problem with trapping but I don't like the bycatch potential... so I only livetrap. If I catch something I don't want to catch (usually a barncat) I can let it go. If I catch a racoon or a mink or something like that... super sonic sleeping pill.

lol I love it

124 gr of 9mm awesomeness (although not supersonic...)

.22LR does fine. Cheap, not real loud, no recoil and doesn't tear the heck out of the trap.

My luck the bullet would ricochet off the cage and sting me in the nuts.
No need to make it harder than you have to, they are not going to take your gun away if you get it too close...
