Saw a maverick for the first time today. While it's similar to my 2007 4x4 in size, it's muuuuuuch shorter. The one I saw appears to be a base trim awd. About the same overall length and width but with the stock ground clearance, it's nowhere near the ranger replacement I've been hearing about

Height and ground clearance, I'd compare it to a Volkswagen rabbit truck

It is based on the Escape/Bronco Sport platform.

First the ranger is too tall, now the maverick is too short.

4x4 trucks sit higher then 2wd trucks.

My credo
A legend to the old man, a hero to the child...
The fact it has no frame, IRS, and no leaf springs puts it solidly out of the truck class. Its not even in the same leauge as the "original" ranger. Much less a replacement. Its a cute-ute with something resembleing a bed.

Why? Because it’s actually drivable and that scares you?
Just what you need to hop the curb in the starbucks parking lot hauling your load of cookie making supplies

I'm down for one in my driveway... for my wife's work vehicle/driver.

I'm looking forward to it actually. Bare bones hybrid... bed cover/liner... floormats... full size spare. No mods... hell... I'm gonna let the dealer do the maintenance. It's perfect!

It’s no hard-core wheeler, and it would NEVER need that snorkel... but I bet that thing would surprise you with how far it could go offroad.

So will an RC car. Its still not a truck and has no business being called one. We all have ridiculed the ridgeline for years...and now ford brings out the same thing and its the greatest. I dont get it.

Lots of us haven't been ridiculing the Ridgeline. No matter how much we like big trucks, most of us don't actually need them.
