Well girlfriend wanted to transplant Sego palm, after much digging I attached the Ranger to the toe strap and pulled out with back wheel spinning. A 98 w vacuum hubs and 4wd broken/start of story.
1. Already did vacuum hub mod as seen onU-Tube and Forums. Works good hubs lock manually.
2. Find and disconnect vacuum switch in passenger wheel well and block lines off & remove motor from transfer case by pulling out four 10 mm bolts.
3. Cut bracket to make it smaller for clearance to turn gear wheel, cut groove in Gear wheel for screwdriver, not really necessary as it turns easily?
it
4. Attach bracket to case indexed correctly and test, remove clean w/brake lean and reinstall with JB Weld.
5. Test operation with truck on jack stands and 1 rear wheel off ground.
Research time don’t ask, front hubs 1/2 hr each, remove switch and modify
transfer case motor 2-3 hrs. Kudo’s to HF bandsaw and Swag table mount kit.
Zero $’s spent to make 4WD work should I need it pre-planned for some reason.
