So my manual 4x4 shifts into gear fine but the front wheels won't engage and spin.... I pulled hubs off and they both seem to function correctly.

The passengers side axle shaft doesn't seem to want to stay pushed up into the knuckle. Enabling the hub to catch.

I also realize now that I am missing thrust washers and axle spacer as well!!!

I am assuming these spacers and washers are necessary for something and hoping it is something simple like that.

If it's not then I'm worried something in the front diff is broken...

Thoughts, opinions,?

Yes, you need that internal-splined washer (axle spacer) and c-clip for the axle to not retract itself from engaging with the hub (and also letting dirt & grime get into the back side of the spindle).
