I have a 2002 Ranger XLT 3.0. I sunk it in a water hole and busted a rod. Make a long story short I pulled the motor had it fluxes heads checks and fixed crank checked. I rebuilt this motor with the help of a guy at the machine shop. Put it in leaked oil. Ok thought maybe bad seal or missed groove on crank. Pulled motor replaced rear seal with a different type. Put motor back in same leak. Ok thought oil pan gasket pulled motor put new pan and gasket on put I bac in still leaks. At my wits end for sure it was rear seal I sent it to a reputable shop 800 later I'm towing it home so I'm no an idiot it's job the rear seal!!!! It is literally pouring oil. We pulled the motor again I took it back to the machine shop they checked for the diameter of crank replaced rear sea and oil pan gasket pumped it full of air through oil sending unit checked for leaks nothing. Sweet made my day maybe I am an idiot put the motor back in leaks same amount ALOT (undrivable)! Where is this oil coming from? It leaked on the drivers side back of block right above starter. It also takes about 1 minute to start leaking and it's slow then progresses to a lot within 3-4 mins. Please help 2000 later and no ranger!!!
