Major oil leak

I have a 2002 Ranger XLT 3.0. I sunk it in a water hole and busted a rod. Make a long story short I pulled the motor had it fluxes heads checks and fixed crank checked. I rebuilt this motor with the help of a guy at the machine shop. Put it in leaked oil. Ok thought maybe bad seal or missed groove on crank. Pulled motor replaced rear seal with a different type. Put motor back in same leak. Ok thought oil pan gasket pulled motor put new pan and gasket on put I bac in still leaks. At my wits end for sure it was rear seal I sent it to a reputable shop 800 later I'm towing it home so I'm no an idiot it's job the rear seal!!!! It is literally pouring oil. We pulled the motor again I took it back to the machine shop they checked for the diameter of crank replaced rear sea and oil pan gasket pumped it full of air through oil sending unit checked for leaks nothing. Sweet made my day maybe I am an idiot put the motor back in leaks same amount ALOT (undrivable)! Where is this oil coming from? It leaked on the drivers side back of block right above starter. It also takes about 1 minute to start leaking and it's slow then progresses to a lot within 3-4 mins. Please help 2000 later and no ranger!!!:(

It's behind the the bellhousing. I'm thinking more and more it's the cam plug. Even though it pressure tested I'm wondering if the little bit of heat and contraction it's creating a small void. Are there left and right specific heads for the 2002 3.0?

No, heads are the same on both sides, head gaskets have right and left though, but wouldn't be for oil, it is for coolant flow.

If oil leak is IN the bell housing then it can't be heads or Cam Synchro shaft(old distributor hole).

So expansion plug for Cam, rear main seal or oil pan is all that's left.
Oil pan gasket can leak but wouldn't be major leak unless you can see a big gap.
Rear main seal is right next to rear crank journal so if it leaks oil will flow out pretty fast.
If crank shaft has scratches where the rear main seal rides it will tear up that seal pretty fast, you can buy "sleeve kits", you install the sleeve on the crank and a slightly larger diameter seal to go over the sleeve.

Leaking Cam expansion plug should be obvious but they are cheap so replace it if you think it is leaking.

I believe it is the rear main seal. What odd is that the crank is fine in spec no grooves etc. there is also no blow by from improper installed oil ring. The shop says it's the rear seal crank may b walking but it runs fine. Also note that the ford seal was tight around crank but almost slid in the block by finger almost like the out diameter of the seal was wrong. Could I have a wrong end cap or is my crank just bad?
