Just got a reman. M5R1 didn’t come with the shifter stub or the shift lever. Ordered the stub but I’m having no luck finding the lever online.I have three
Exactly what do you need there?
This reads as you got a re-manufactured tans for your RBV but was missing the "stub", the fork that enters the trans that the "Shift lever", the stick that you actually grab a hold of to shift the transmission.
That's pretty darn slick.There is a pin you can tap out of the lever and then you can grind a notch wherever you want/need it for whatever lever you end up with. The stub is specific to the trans (a R1 stub isn't supposed to work in a R1HD and vice versa) from what I have read. Shifters don't really care if you get into a pinch though.
Difference between a R2 and R1HD, the regular R1 is different yet. The pin goes in the slot, the wedge bolt engages into the big notch and is actually what holds the shifter from moving around.
How I made my chrome FX4 Level II shifter fit my R2 trans:
The throw is pretty short with the Ranger shifter on the R2, the original R2 shifter is a lot longer.

I modified the longer R2 shifter stub to accept a Ranger shift lever. The shorter R1 stub will not work in my R2 transmission (R2's are out of F-150's)You have them both in the picture
Does the stubby one take up less leg-room through the shift pattern? (I guess that could only make a difference if the tops are both the same length)
