Well, I just ended up fabricating one and it seems to be working just fine. Fired up the 2.8l today that we just recently rebuilt, but now we're having a fuel delivery problem that I'll have to check out tomorrow. Still have to drill new holes in the firewall for the new clutch master cylinder because we bought brand new clutch, pressure plate, slave and master for the year of ranger that we took the tranny from.

If you really need one call your neighborhood ford dealership and ask for a "starter index plate"

They told me they don't carry them anymore

Seriously..... what size engine you looking for a plate from?

I’m going to hunt for a top cover tomorrow, and if I see one out there, I can grab it for you.

In the 7th post lvwill

Says he has one for a 2.9l or 4.0l

I fabbed one up but thanks, I have one for a 2.8l if anybody needs one, also a flywheel and disc and pressure plate.

Had to Shorten the rear driveshaft too
