Hello all,
I am trying to replace the neutral sensing switch (passenger side sensor) on my m5od because the previous owner ripped the wires off haha.. When I removed the switch however, a small rod (about 1.25" long) popped out of the hole as well. When trying to install the new switch the rod won't allow the trans to shift into 1st or 2nd, as though the rod is causing a bind. Leaving the rod out tho causes the computer to read a code 522, that the switch does not work.
Is there a trick to getting that rod seated properly? Is it necessary to remove the shifter or something? I can't seem to find info on this anywhere..
Thanks
