Well, it's finally together, and just in time, we got 3 inches of rain last night and this morning, sure wouldn't care to be laying down out there today.
My head has more bumps on it now than it's had in a longgg time, crawling in and out from under that thing all day, and using a 4x4 chock block for a pillow, isn't much fun as it used to be
I drove it about 60 miles and need to recheck the TC bolts to see if that's loosened up a bit. I started a couple of other threads in this process due to a certain amount of urgency in hoping for some quick fixes.
The starter one almost resolved itself as i realized the bolt hole did go through, and the TC to transmission bolts seemed close enough to go with, hoping it doesn't cause a problem later.
I still don't know how much confidence to have in the rebuilt transmission, suppose only time will tell, but think getting the reserve ready soon as possible is fairly important.
I'm also thinking the engine will need done before too much longer, It's got 350K, and still not using much oil, but I have a hunch the timing chain could need attention, and the motor has to come out to fix that

Starter Bolt Hole in Trans Stripped! Any Ideas?
Any ideas what to do with that? Just putting the truck back together after installing a "rebuilt" transmission. Put the bottom bolt in and tightened it up, then got up top and started the top bolt in, got a few threads in and put a 1/4" ratchet W/ 1/2" socket in there and started turning it, it...

M50D Transmission 1354 TC won't pull together
I have a M50D transmission from a rebuilder, that's had numerous flaws in it, but it's in the truck and I started it and shifted it through the gears(drive shaft not installed) and it seemed to be working ok in that mode, trouble is I can't get the transfer case to pull on it. It's been a slow...
