My credo
If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
Brake hoses are cheap insurance. If you decide not to change them and one pops when you're braking hard causing you to hit something you'll kick yourself.

Hard to kick yourself when your legs were severed in a wreck...

I find it hard to argue against this line of thought. With brake hoses being as inexpensive as they are, it’s not a bad way to go.

The other rubber items should be looked at as well, in my opinion, but it is much easier to deal with a fluid or vacuum leak than failed brakes. Murphy’s Law says the brake lines will fail at the most inopportune time.
