lowering questions

hey guys , so im intrested to lower my 2008 ford ranger 2wd XLT.
i currently have 20" rims on it. i was wondering what would be a safe drop to drop it to, because i live in alberta and we get quiet abit of snow. right now the wheel rubs on the control arm, but if i dropped it i would change the tires to low profiles. this is my truck as it sits atm



any help would be greatly appreciated, and im all new to lowering so i need abit of help

I would say start small, go with a 2" drop and see how you like it... plus well more ground clearence is better then less. I'd say pull out the rear lift blocks and that will give you a 2" drop in the back and dependign on your suspension up front drop it an inch and your truck would sit level and have pretty good ground clearence for the snow.

Then again I am more of a lift it guy but same rules apply I think.

Does your truck have trosion bars? that is the first question that need to be asked

yes it has torsion bars

well your in luck cause just like us ranger owner's who want to get nose bleeds raising our trucks with spindle lifts.. the guys who want to drag their junk through the weeds can have fun also....i was surfing Google and found drop spindles that would work awesome for what you wanted to do here's a link..

Those won't work for him because he has torsion bars. All you can really do to lower your truck is to un-crank your torsion bars and pull the rear lift block for a 2/2 drop they don't make any drop kits for a torsion bar equipped truck.
