Howdy everyone

On my 90 Bronco II, I replaced the factory headlight housings with some new ones about a year ago. It made a vast difference in the light output. However, the low beams still suck. They light doesn't really travel that far out on to the road like the sealed beams in my 87 does. High beams work fine, plenty of light I suppose. If anyone has any tips on how to fix this I would greatly appreciate it.

How's the head light aim? They might need adjusting. I forget what the specs are but there is quite a few things on the internet about what the right distance to a wall is. What the height should be. And where they should be pointing in relation to the vehicle. Granted, that's the redneck method but it has served me well in the past.

Only a possibility. Some vehicles just suck when it comes to light distribution, sealed beams or not.

Looking at the picture... they do suck!

I don't believe for a minute that all these cheap headlamp housing are created equal. Did you buy the cheapest ones on the internet?

I think some of it can be corrected with aligning the headlamps. They appear to be aimed to low to the ground to me. But as poor as it looks in your picture... it's probably worth some time researching the internet and maybe someone with experience with these Gen 2's will chime in and shed some LIGHT on this for you... no pun intended.

Thanks for the reply Uncle Gump. They weren't the cheapest on eBay but they weren't the most expensive either. I'll align them when I get the chance but I don't think it'll help all that much but I'm sure it'll make an improvement.
I'm wondering if converting to projectors with hids would make a difference. I had some led bulbs but they were worse than the halogens, and they were just in the reflectors.

Deengineer until it is how Blue Oval should have sold it!!
There are 2 screws to align your headlamps, one @ 12:00 the other @ 09:00.

Do it on a level surface approximately 25 ' from a wall.

sometimes it can be that you get used to a new(er) vehicle with extremely good lighting then when you go back to a older ride they seem awful. I remember when halogen lights first came out, suddenly the sealed beams in dads 74 F250 seemed really weak. Before you knew anything else they werent that bad. I put a small 7” off road light bar on my ranger so that when I was coming home at 2 am I could see better.
