Hi you guys, I'm wanting to replace the O2 sensors in my 2.9L Ranger. How many are there and where are they located on my truck? Anything I should check while installing? Thank you

On the y-pipe. This picture shows it right where the y comes together on the exhaust.

Only one of them, right where Franklin said it is.

I had good luck with Bosch. YMMV.

Second Bosch, I believe they were an OEM supplier.

Yep, go with Bosch OxSensors.
Avoid cheaper Asian\Ebay versions; they tend to fail in a few months.

I read somewhere in a parallel universe that the NGK sensors read/send data more quickly than the Bosch. I'm yet to test this theory AND ALSO CANT FIND THE ARTICLE so maybe its heresy.

Not sure I believe this? For industrial\manufacturing control systems I've worked with in past lives,
the data collection rate\frequency was dependent on how fast the controlling computer processor
& its encoded program scans the signal inputs (to the PCM in this case),
not dependent on any individual sensor that is sending it a signal.
Though the sensor itself may respond to changes in Oxygen concentration faster\slower?

Yes, this is what I believe was implied.
