Be nice, you may need help later!
My 2011 Ranger with 2.3 has a column shifter but I have been told there is a floor shift for the A4LD, which is not in my Ranger, but I am installing one in a 2.3 powered 67 Sunbeam Alpine. A floor shifter would make installation much easier. Any suggestions appreciated.

They used a bellcrank assembly mounted on the frame as part of the shift linkage.

Several aftermarket companies make floor shifters for the A4LD.

I ran a B&M Unimatic for awhile that fit just about every trans I had ever heard of, not sure if it fit the A4LD or not but it looked similarish (T handle but with a straight pattern and chrome lever) Cable operated too.

As long as the shifter has 4 forward positions it should work. Alot of universal ones are made for the three speeds (TH350/400, TF727, and C6/C4). Pretty sure the A4LD has all 4 positions on the detents (overdrive, drive, second, first). If it only has overdrive, drive, and low than you can use a universal 3 speed shifter made for any common trans of the olden days.

But I have seen ones marketed specifically stating they are for the A4LD...

My B&M mainly used the transmission detents, all the shifter itself had was park. It came with a packet of a bunch of different levers to install on the various trans to get the throws right though.

2011 Ranger should have a 5 speed automatic if I recall. I don't think there was ever a floor shift for the 5 speeds, all were column shift. Although as others mentioned a cable shift floor shifter probably would work as it would only require a 4 position detent as you don't really have 5 shift positions now, you have a button that disables the overdrive (5th gear).

OD OFF button is a 12v momentary contact

Each time computer boots up OD is ON
If you press the button once, 12volt goes to pin 29 on computer and it toggles to OD OFF and turns on the light, press button again and it sends 12v to pin 29 again and computer toggles to OD ON
So its not a 12v on/off switch, button is momentary contact that sends 12v each time its pressed

And I assume you are swapping in the 2011 2.3l with trans, into the Sunbeam, because you do need the computer for that transmission, or a stand-alone trans computer, $$$$

You couldn't use trans with the 2.3l Lima engine, 1997 and earlier Rangers, because trans won't bolt to it, completely different 2.3l engine
Just mentioning this because the 2.3l SOHC Lima engine was a popular swap to other vehicles years ago

In the pics he has a Lima already in the car so I don't think he's using the 2011 stuff...
