Thanks again to all. Unfortunately in this country, and for unknown reason, there's no seafoam cleaner anywhere, so I will have to look for an alternate option or perhaps go the old way and remove each injector and clean them one by one. K&N filters are also hard to find and get.

Ford's 3.0 is most definitely a plain Jane. For example, Buick made the Fireball 6, the very same size, the block based on the chevy 350 V8, during the same era. It ran like an 8. The MPG was low 20s city to high 20s highway, was rated one on the top ten engines of all time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick_V6_engine

Newer versions are even better with a lighter aluminum block.

Should my Ranger 3.0 ever die, I'm definitely going to consider the Ford Windsor, a flyweight 8.

There is probably some sort of substitute. Also I have noticed fuel injector cleaner and octane booster is not much different ingredients.

If you are going to remove the injectors, might as well have them professionally cleaned by a shop if possible. It is cheap and fast and much better results to have them do it.

otherwise maybe look into a sonic cleaner? I have not put injectors in mine, but have cleaned things like carburetor jets with it.

Don't bother with K&N filter, there is no real gain. Constantly cleaning and oiling them is not worth it, and can cause problems if not done properly. You are not missing out.

One answer I forgot to reply to all of you is that my Ranger is Flex fuel.

where in mexico are you? can you cross and buy it on the us side and just bring back what you need? lots of people do that here in south texas. they bring trailers and buy out all kinds of stuff from walmart and take it back to mexico. and they i heard they get their sales tax money back when they show the receipt at the border. i cannot find it on any websites but some guys that used to work for my dad said they did that when i worked contruction along the south texas border for a few years

Yeah the whipple looks like it mounts upside down. and smaller than the m90 though it’s been awhile since I layed the m90 on top to look at positioning. Is it still running with all the same accessories or is it on a second belt?
the truck is non flex fuel. So it already has 19s? Hmmm most of my reading through said it was 14s and 25.3s for flex. I was looking at the ford racing 24s since those weren’t too expensive too.
But overall exhaust, 1.8s, tune Til boost. Then injectors, pump and retune. I’ll probably gasket match the lower intake as well when I have everything off in prep for a SC.
All stock accessories with the Whipple. It uses a longer serpentine belt:

Around here they're called "pipes twice".
I heard similar during my time in Rhode Island lol. Big Portuguese population, called em twice pipes.

They also very much like 'the chicken dance' 🤷‍♀️ the town I lived in had an annual Portuguese festival and it seemed like all they played over the loudspeakers for the whole town to hear all damn weekend was that stupid song lol.

That is how south texas, along the border towns are. My wife is from brownsville, at the bottom of texas, and when we go to any family things, chicken dance happens at least once

Late to the party but looked thru the previous posts and didn't see this mentioned

3.0l Vulcan was designed as a HIGH RPM engine
1986-2003 makes best torque(power) at 3,600rpms
2004-2008 at 3,900rpms

Most engines do best torque at 2,500-2,900rpms, i.e. 4.0l OHV at 2,400rpm, 4.0l SOHC at 2,900rpm

With an automatic the shift points are to low for best power, manually shift it and let the RPMs get high, you will FEEL it at max torque, then shift it

Don't be afraid of over REVing it, you can't
"Drive it like a rented mule"

If its shifting under 3,000rpm then you are driving around a 100HP engine, not a 145HP engine

Torque is what gets you to 80mph, horse power is what keeps you at 80mph

3.0l Vulcan makes best horse power at 5,000rpm

Its a HIGH RPM engine................... by design

Okay from those pics the whipple does look smaller than m90 but over the summer ill see if i can build an intake to mount it upside downlike that. that`ll give me long enough runners to put the W2A intercooler i was thinking of. Originally I was trying to just have it up right and centered over the lower intake manifold.
