Thinking of calling about a 07 Sport Trac with the V6. Don't know anything about it otherwise.

How are they as a vehicle? How is the V6 for working on? Or the rest of the vehicle?

I personally love the Sport Trac Model. I had an 08 ( 2nd Gen) and recently looked at an 05 ( 1st gen) with the Adrenaline Package. It got sold out from under me, or I would be driving it right now. IMO it is very versatile and the 4.0 in my '08 never had an issue as far as towing and hauling stuff.

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.

212,000 to be exact.
Oil changes with synthetic every 5k since new, fuel and air filters every 30k, coolant and spark plugs every 50k.
Rebuilt trans at 132k.
People complain about the timing chains but mine were never a problem, rather it blew a head gasket but the fix is the same, engine has to come out.
Sport Tracs are basically tanks that will run forever with proper maintenance. The weak spots are the trans although most of them will have been rebuilt already, rust in the rockers and lower rear cab corners because the third brake light can leak and water runs down the inside and lays there, and the timing chains (listen for rattle) although those are not normally a problem until you get north of 150k and if the oil wasn't changed enough.
On the 07 there is a trigger under the driver's side bed rail to open the in-floor storage compartment. 08-10 models have a simple knob on the lid. Mechanically an 07 is pretty much the same as a 2002-2010 Explorer.
