How much drive shaft free play should their be?

99 ranger, manual in neutral
Just swapped to a 8.8 from a 2001 ranger
Moves quite a bit. I can’t get a video to upload but making a mark and turning it it moves 1” left to right.

Seems pretty normal in comparison to all of the 8.8’s I’ve had. My last 28 spline Ranger 8.8 was worse than that and worked perfectly.

Sounds about right for an 8.8, about and inch or so.

Ok. Thanks guys. That’s what I was hoping for. Looks like the distance the cross pin is moving.
