I bought a really nice astro fiberglass cap for 25 bucks.

It needs lift cylinders on the back door.

Do i measure for new ones with them collapsed or open?

If you have the old cylinders and they’re still readable, you can get the weight too. Too low of a weight and it won’t hold and too high will make it hard to close and wicked to open.

Another good tidbit. Didnt think about that.

I havent looked to close at the cylinders yet, just powerwashed years of black tree shit and mildew off it.

I was gonna fix it and sell it but its a perfect match for my 97. No idea if ill ever use it. Lol

When I replaced mine, I just wrote down the model number and brand and searched for them. Amazon had them for less than anyone else.
