Hey guys. Just bought a 98 ranger. It has a lift kit on it of an unknown height. Its sitting on 31's and the fender arch peaks at 37". Wondering what amount of lift might be on this truck. Need to replace front shocks and dont know what length to buy.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Just find the part numbers on the current shocks and cross reference them to the brand of new shocks you want. They are usually stamped on the body of the shock somewhere. If the part numbers are no longer discernable you can remove a front and a rear shock and measure the collapsed and fully extended length from eye to eye. Almost all shocks will have these numbers available online before you purchase them. Pick out a set of shocks for say a 4" lift, if the numbers match you found your shocks, If they dont try a different set for say a 6" lift and so on.

Oreillys usually list shock lengths on most all shocks. If you get the lengths then figure out what ends you have you should be able to find something in the way of a part number. Then check ebay, amazon, auto zone for prices.
