My credo
i think i have some truck on my rust
hey all, I'm looking to level my 1991 ranger 4x4. i know the lift needed is about an inch and a half, maybe two. I've been doing a little shopping around and I've discovered axle pivot drop brackets (link below). my question is, do i need these? if i only intend to jack the front end 2 inches at the most, will my alignment really suffer that badly? the website says that i should buy them but I'm wondering if that's more of a sales tactic than a necessity. additionally, any recommendations for leveling springs? found a pair on rough country that offer a 1.5 inch lift for a pretty great price, but wondering if there are any better or cheaper options available. i also was wondering about the shock absorbers with all of this, and the sway bar links. do i need extended ones? or at least lift capable shocks?? pretty informed mechanically but not great with aftermarket parts as they tend to leave things unsaid. Thank you!

Small lifts on the TTB are almost luck of the draw. Alignment afterward being the primary issue. Most people seem to do fine tho.

If you target 1.5in, I'd buy these: 83-97 lift blocks (NJ)
The shocks would probably be fine. You could check after installing the blocks by jacking the truck up till the tires is off the ground then unhooking the shock to see if droops farther.

I actually have about 3/4in of dock washers under my front springs and was still able to get the nut on the stud. With the way the TTB arm works that is supposedly 1.5 in of lift. I didn't have a problem. I do have adjustable alignment bushings tho.

Those blocks don’t look half bad, but I want the full benefit of having taller springs. Thank you also for the information with the rest of the stuff, sounds like I’m going to try and just do the springs/ alignment and see what happens. Worst case my alignment is off and I buy the brackets afterwards.
