I want to see what everyone is using for welders, and some of the specs for your particular set-up. Basically, I want to sticky this as a "Welder Selection Guide". :icon_thumby:

Craftsman 120v mig. It will weld up to 1/4" plate on a double pass.

My dad has a gas powered stick welder.

I like it. I learned to weld with it and it works great for what I need right now.

Lincoln PowerMig 180, welds up to 1/2" single pass with .045 fluxcore, pretty much the new version of the 175.

I have full access to 3 different welding shops, so there are any number of different welders I use but I dont own any. Mainly I use a Miller Dinasty 700 for TIG and Stick and a Lincoln 175HD or a Millermatic 252 for MIG.
I love that Dynasty 700, top of the line TIG tecnology, I wish I had the $15000 to buy one for myself.

My first welder, a Century 130. Good for sheet metal but it's always been a little on the weak side. It'll do 1/8", but it takes more time, and it's got a low duty cycle.. I've still got it around because the 110V makes it a lot more portable.

And the big one. It's a Millermatic 210 and I absolutely love this welder. This pic is shortly after I got it.. look at those brand spankin' new welding gloves. They're not that blue anymore... Both tanks are Steelmix 3 from Airgas.

Miller 250, Miller 251X and a mid 70's Hobart. All work damn nice, and the two Millers are setup with aluminum spool guns as well.
