I was wondering if anybody can clear up if I have LED taillights in my 19 XLT Ranger.
The taillights are different on the XL trim with XLT and Lariat being common. But the order sheet does not list LED taillights on the XLT.
Places like Diode Dynamics sell LED taillights for the XL but not the XLT.
I'm thinking I have standard bulbs in a housing that looks like the Lariat.
Thanks!

If your tailights look the blue truck below they are LED

If your tailights look the Magnetic truck below they are not LED

It really is that simple. Hope that helps.

Mine are like the blue truck. The turn signals are quite blinding to boot. I think the vehicles equipped with the Co-Pilot 360 come with those tail lights because they have the sensors for the system. I don't think the conventional light tail lights have that system built into them.

$1237.49 for rear lamp assembly..... You could buy a running and driving 90s ranger for that price. Suckers....

This is the type of stuff that worries me a bit buying a New Bronco. I'll be curious to find out systems that will be tied into trim packages... engine upgrades... upper level suspension... whatever. I would really like to bypass most the tech stuff. Not all of it... but most of it. I fear that won't be possible.

Or an entire fleet of Ford Pinto's....

Suckers..... Well, opinions vary but there are legit reasons to step into a newer vehicle than a 90's Ranger or a '72 Pinto.

It's a risk vs rewards thing.

The only reason we traded our '02 Tacoma in on a new truck was air bags, specifically side curtain air bags. Nearly every time we drive we see people passing in no passing zones, swerving into oncoming traffic, tailgating... you know... all that self centered stupid shit we all see people doing, not paying attention to the road or obeying laws. It's that "if I don't get caught I didn't do anything wrong" mentality.

So with a new Ranger, you get all the airbags in the XL trim, and you don't get all the other technology that is super expensive to replace... like LED headlights and tail lights, sensors in the front bumpers, etc., etc.

We had the money in the bank to pay cash for a new truck. I figured if I or my wife end up laying in a hospital bead, with major head trauma, because somebody was playing with their phone, swerved into our lane and hit us... that I'd be saying a safer vehicle would have been a wise move.

As far as parts go there will be aftermarket choices that will be more cost effective than buying parts from Ford.

But people today want all those bells and whistles. Tailgate Dampers are a perfect example. Folks bitch and moan about Rangers not having a tailgate damper, or air conditioned seats, or a heated steering wheel. I'd be happy with manual everything... but with lots of airbags.

This is literally the only reason I have a new Ranger and not another Sport Trac or a mid-90’s Bronco.

Probably not..... Everyone wants a new vehicle with the best of the best but don't want the tech that supports it.... That's just not gonna happen.... Tech is only going to get bigger and more intrusive. Pretty much if something is manual or takes manual power to operate then they are converting it electrically somehow. I wouldn't be surprised if they had electric gas caps haha! Seams like MFG's want people to become lazier and lazier.... And I can't stand lazy people.....

Added incentive to get some tail light guards as soon as they are available or get some made. A heck of a lot cheaper than a tail light assembly. Hopefully, they will make some that don't interfere with the BLIS system.
