2020 Ford Ranger Lariat. I attached an LED tail light bar. For convenience, it get's it's power from the trailer plug. The problem is, once plugged in, the truck thinks that it is actually towing a trailer. The side mirror blind spot indicators no longer function and the back-up camera no longer displays the guide lines. So far I have not discovered anything else that is not functioning but I do not wish to drive the vehicle this way. Does anyone have a workaround other than to start cutting wires?

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
Your blinkers also flash five times instead of three when you just tap the blinker on.
Youauto start-stop is always off.

There may be a away to change some of the functions with a Ford IDS or with Forscan.

Be a hell of a lot simpler to just solder in a split to a separate connector at the tail light. :dunno:

I understand not wanting to mess with wires on a brand new truck though. But if you do it properly there's no negative effect and it could easily be unplugged if you sell the truck leaving only a clean spare connector you'd never see.

That sounds like a positive benefit to me.
It definitely is.
I turn off the blind spot indicators on my trucks anyway. So that’s not an issue to me. (That little LED light is annoying as hell.)

All the added automatic crap is one thing I don't like about new cars. I'm capable of checking my own tire pressure once a week.

Me too... I just click on the tire pressure screen and it tells me the tire pressure of all 4 tires in a split second.

Pop out the tail lights... LINK ... but be careful with them, they are worth their weight in gold.
