I was thinking of installing LED strip lights into the interior of my Ranger. (Below is the link to the LEDs). It seems like the voltages are the same, but we'll have to see if the amperages are.

Does anyone have an idea of how to mount the parts inside the cigarette lighter. I was planning on mounting the LEDs around the back of the radio.

Honestly the single dome light doesn't cut it

Swap in a dome light from a 95-04 mustang and overhead console from an 95-01 explorer, the two combined will give you more than enough light and will look factory installed.

Check the tech section for further info.

Just a heads up

The cigar lighter has power all the time, not a key on/off circuit on most vehicles

So if you hook something up to it add an OFF switch so it won't drain battery

In this case you would be better off to add LED lights to the dome light circuit, so they could be activated the same as dome light, i.e. only when needed

I found with my 89 that one super bright daylight LED is great in the factory housing. I would recommend the same for your truck, and that will light it up nice, and if you still want them, then the LED strips will make a nice aesthetic touch for sure!

Are you going to string lights up like Christmas or accent lights? These lights are probably not what you are looking for. They make these exact same lights that PLUG INTO the cig lighter. That way you don't have to wire anything. I think I got my last set for around $10 on ebay. I don't do amazon. type in 12v automotive led strips and you'll get a million options.

Can you share a link to the LED you used?

Thanks
