Leaf Springs

I've read the tech articles...on the hunt for some 91-92 Explorer leaf springs (I assume any year until 94 will work "easiest").

If anyone has a pair they want to sell, let me know.

Salvage yards are the best bet (cheapest looks like) or would I be best trying to buy them new online from rockauto, etc.?

I'd really rather not pay $140 or so each for them (as I think that's what they are per).

I think this helps my rear end sag a little as well as for when I haul the trailer, and drive through the pastures with folks in the backseat. Wonder if it improves flat line acceleration as well as braking and gas mpg without loss of the BII travel???

Quick question for anyone that's done it - is it worth it, really makes a difference and what tools do I need (got the grinder and wrenches, a torch for heat if need be)...also, do I need to change shackles etc?

This mod worked great for my B2, got about an inch of lift in the rear from the springs alone. The ride stiffened up a little bit. Your local pull a part should have a bunch of these expo's in stock and being in SC, the stuff should all come apart easy. Bring a bottle of penetrating oil just in case. Had I seen this a couple weeks ago I would have hooked you up, just sent a pair to the crusher.

Good info...but man, did you have to tell me about the crusher...haha!
