Leaf Spring Clamps

Are these things reusable after you remove them?



If not what is good to replace them with? Lots of different styles out there and they all have mediocre reviews...

I dont see why you couldnt try to reuse them. Ive never tried taking them off to know if it’s possible to put them back on.

If the truck is going to be used offroad use these style clamps. They let the springs seperate for better articulation.

I have seen those but they look like they would be kinda baggy but I guess they are the way to go so I need to check into them more.

From what I can tell the "bolt" style clamps are either bolted or riveted to the bottom leaf... so not really an easy upgrade.

Technical - leaf spring clamps

I'm trying to remember how the clamps attach to the front spring of a 47 Ford car specifically the hole on top of the clamp. [ATTACH]

So I think I will just stick with the other style for now...

Yeah, just another brick in the wall. I am getting tired of this project dragging on. If I could get the bolt apart that holds the spring together without destroying it I would just do that and fan the leaves apart to change the plastic slider pucks and not even mess with the clamps.

YES!!!-- I almost always, added additional leafs, to my spring stacks, and I salvaged this type of binder, from many older Ford products, reusing them and stabilizing the "spring arc". Worked very well, keeping the springs together, and added to the "original stock" look

They already had holes in them, I just spread the stock clamps with a hammer and chisel and then reclamped them for now.
