Apple is not the answer Apple is admitting defeat and acknowledging personal incompetence.

Blaiming Windows updates for issues is almost the same thing, typically if
an issue happens along with an update it's a case of a corrupted system file that the update cannot remove when it's trying to install the update.

This is typically caused by a corrupted sector on the hard drive.

Yes desktop drives last five years.

IF you THINK an OEM laptop drive that's 3 years old doesn't need to be replaced
you deserve to lose the data that you are about to lose...

Generally if you suffer a failure when running updates updated didn't cause the problem so much as "exposed" a pre-exsisting condition.

Care to guess how many people have monor heart attacks during or
shortly after cardiac stress tests? More that you want to know about.

Running updates, particularly if you have not kept current on updates,
usually involves a lot of writing and erasing on the system hard drive.
And if one of those writes happens to write something important on a sector
that previously held something unimportant that was actually corrupted
because of an error on the hard drive... "bad sh!t happens" and updates
gets blamed.

Most updates are corrections for recently discovered "Security holes"

And don't feed me a plate of bullsh!t and tell me it's caviar about Mac/Apple/Linus being immune.

Apple and Linux machines are simply not as likely to be targeted and until someone finds a security hole to expliot nobody knows to patch it

Frankly I suspect everyone who espouses Linux as being a hacker that writes windows viri in their spare time just to create havoc and discord.
