kidney stones

i hate them. they hurt soooo bad, it feels like my kidneys are in a vice right now.

passed 2 thursday night/friday morning. went to the ER during this, gave me pain medicine and did catscans. found out i have more in both kidneys. i had 2 more movements after i left the hospital. today on my 2 hour drive from home from where i was working they started to move again. the pain was so bad that i threw up my lunch and freshly taken pain killers everywhere, and the business i stopped in front of sent a security guard to check on me. the 2 hr drive ended up taking over 3 hours because i had to pull over on 2 occasions.

and a couple hours later now, they are still killing me. i gotta go to a urologist (sp?) in 8 days for an exam and i cant hardly wait.

Question. How much water do you drink everyday?

If your pee is not 90% clear, drink more. If you notice your pee is a dark yellow, you are not drinking nearly enough.

If you are already drinking plenty of water, enough to make your pee clear, well, sorry bro, I got nothing for you.

i dont drink enough, im a tea freak.
ive been working on the water thing though since this happened. trying to keep mostly water and juices in my body.

Kidney pain is horrible.. I didn't have stones, I had an infection though. Drink cranberry juice.. It'll make you pee A LOT!

I feel for you man. My mom had them about 30 years ago and I still remember it. Hope it gets better soon - at least they have the sonic-stone-cruxher thingy now - or whatever it's called.

those things suck, i've never had one (knocking on wood right now) but a neighbor did. he was not a happy camper. drinking alot of beer helps, keeps the system flushed out. i drink water, milk or beer myself. no powerade, no fruit drinks and no soda except every now and then.

I know how you feel bud! I have kidney stones, and last spring had surgery to remove a 9mm stone!!!! It had completely blocked the passage from my kidney to my bladder, so much so that my side looked like I was growing a grapefruit or something! Had to stop drinking soda completely and switch to water. If I drink much soda for a day or two, my kidneys really act up and hurt like hell. Drinking alcohol really activates them too. But a beer or two is a good way to help stones pass as they put ur kidneys into overdrive. So that might not be a bad thing on a bad day when they are moving. Swap yourself with water and what not, it will help alot. I drink quite a bit of water, even when im not thirsty, just to keep things kosher.

My brother has had them 2 or 3 times.... he gets rid of them with something to do with asparagus and a 12 pack of coke... I think... works every time he's gotten them. It's the only time he'll drink coke.. I could find out if you want...

thanks guys. i fought them off today with the pain killers. i hate to be a pill popper but they work much better at preventing pain than stopping it. about every three hours (the bottle said every four), or whenever i would start to feel discomfort, id go ahead and pop one. it got me through the day but now im almost out. they only gave me 15 vicodens. i might go to emergicare on saturday and see if they can prescribe me more.

and yeah they let me doorgunner. as you can probably tell from this post haha. the way i see it im safer to drive doped up on painkillers, than to drive while doubled up screaming in pain.

The last one I passed... I damn near had to pull over and call for the GF to come and get me. The pain is incredible, instant and agionizing! I had lithotripsy (sp?). Cost about $30K and didn't really help much.

drink, drink, drink and you'll be less likely to get them. I have never had one and I drink water like a fish all day long. I bet I do 3/4 of a gal pluss each day, but then I work in hot engine rooms where I cook if I dont drink!

And put some antibacterial stuff on your penis. No kidding...this stuff will burn the skin on your knob so much that the back pain will be like a fairy stabbing you with a feather. Make sure you feel that or get some stronger stuff till you see the flesh start to bubble on your pecker head.

It also helps to kill the almost guaranteed urinary infection that you will get because once that urine starts backing up in your kidneys you will be subjected to nasty bacteria...


Other than that...keep drinking the water (I agree with cranberry juice...and pain killers...)...hope you feel better soon...but tell your GF she's gonna have to wait till the skin grows back...
