Greetings Ranger Community! My names Andrew and i'm brand new here. I guess i'm fairly young as i'm 19 in college and on track to go into the army(11A), but I've always been into older ford trucks and recently this past week pulled the trigger on a 92 4.0 V6 Custom Ext Cab and I treat it as a blessing. Reason for buying young is to really work on it with my grandfather as everything ive became to be, came from him. My aspirations for this truck is to really make it my own and try to keep this ranger going for as long I can. The guy i bought it from had it for 10 years and put a lot of upgrades on it, so im already starting ahead fortunately. It was originally a fleet truck for the Ohio Highway Control. Nice to meet all of you!

Stuff Done Previosly:
  1. Ford Explorer clutch, flywheel, and slave cylinder less than 2,000 miles ago.
  2. New thermostat, heater core, Ford Explorer Radiator, and all coolant hoses.
  3. Rear main seal and several other seals replaced
  4. Gibson 2.5" Catback exhaust
  5. Hedman Headers
  6. Jet-Hot Ceramic Coating
  7. custom welding/fitting & modifications
  8. 73mm MAF housing from Ford Mustang Cobra
  9. BBK 66mm throttle body
  10. Tubular aluminum air intake with cone filter
  11. Powertrax No-Slip locking rear differential
  12. Hurst Short-throw Shifter & Royal Purple manual transmission fluid
  13. Entire rocker assembly and all pushrods and gaskets replaced
  14. Custom one-piece steel driveshaft
  15. Skyjacker heavy-duty front springs
  16. Front steering knuckles/spindles/brakes/calipers/ball joints, updated twin-piston caliper
  17. Heavy-duty 139 dB air horn
  18. Stripped & custom painted valve covers
  19. Aftermarket JVC radio and speakers
  20. Electronic Ignition
  21. More small improvements not worth listing.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Great looking truck...a clean body and a running engine is always a great start to any vehicle project. The older Rangers are great, not saying the newer ones aren't but I love the square body trucks much more than the 93 and newer Rangers....and the 2019+ Rangers are way too bloated to be a Ranger at all and out of reach for many just starting out....that 92 Ranger is a great find, nice score.

Me too i couldn't get over the square body look and definitely couldn't buy the more rounded body styles. Much fun work to come

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
Nice clean looking truck. I'd suggest flushing out the brake fluid, it looks pretty dark. If you get sick of all the clunking and banging the power trax makes a Ford or Yukon traction lok is a lot quieter but also a lot more work to install.

Did a complete head gasket replacement and replaced all the fluids, definitely helped!
