I am hoping I get either the junior Database job, or helpdesk. I got the skills it just depends if I stand out enough... Downloaded SQL server management studio and python to practice more advanced stuff...
With ITT Tech in my programming class the most advanced code we wrote was a class project I did solo instead of on a team. It was a Network Backup script, but it was a fake one. It didn't back up any real files we just made it say it did. Which isn't really helpful. I mean it helped get an idea of basic code. Learned minor HTML. I need to get my feet wet and expand my knowledge. Junior DBA(database administrator) will make 65-85k in the Boston area. That requires 2-3 yes experience.

My credo
Love Thy Neighbor
I took courses for dba many years ago but it wasn't anything practical...all theory...which was really boring...we had some labs if I recall but it was done on mainframe time and we had to create a database, move some files around and back it up...nothing major...and certainly doesn't qualify me for any current jobs...

I see quite a few openings for DBAs and I was told once to apply for them and if I get an interview to say I have some experience but really willing to learn...my take on that was "waste my time, waste their time" so I never bothered to apply...

The IT market is flooded right now so employers in Canada are very picky...hope you get what you're looking for...:icon_thumby:
