- My credo
- Be patient and use a torque wrench when called for.
I have an 87 B2 with the 2.9ltr V6. Here's what's going on. A while back while driving on the Fwy, the motor seemed to power down. Like burning the #3 valve on a VW. When I exited the Fwy there was an incline and it could barely make it up this road in second gear. It starts up just fine and idles nicely. It revs no problem. Driving under any medium load it feels plugged up and while revving it feels like not all the cylinders are firing; it sputters and I have to drop down to a lower gear. My mechanic said he checked all the vacuum lines and electronics, plugs, spark and sensors. We found rust in the tank so I replaced the tank, sending unit and both pumps and filters. He pulled an injector and it was clean. Performance was improved but still nowhere where it should be. When I try to accelerate in 3rd gear it wants to go but it feels plugged up. It hesitates, and does not generate power. I'm scratching my head.
