Nice... it's like driving a new truck I'm sure.

Imagine what it would look like with one of those ModBox super charger kits...

Just the right size to touch the ground.
if anyones curious, i put the ranger on the dyno today

nothing has changed besides a sohc swap.
stock internal sohc with gibson headers.
35" tires, c4 trans, and 5.13 gears.

with the ohv it put down 100 hp and 143tq
as i rolled into the dyno on the old OHV tune the truck made 168hp/180tq *note that the programming for the ohv was completely safe to run. it wasnt lean anywhere in the rpm range. so a tune wasnt absolutely necessary
after some adjustments to the computer the final numbers were 179 hp/185tq

*note that the programming for the ohv was completely safe to run the sohc on. it wasnt lean anywhere in the rpm range. so for anyone considering this EEC-IV SOHC swap. a custom tune wasnt absolutely necessary.

to add.
heres a pic of a dyno sheet for a 5.0 explorer completely stock with stock sized tires.:ROFLMAO:
Your numbers are pretty much inline with what ModdBox shows on their webpage for a stock SOHC (165 HP / 185 lbft), I doubt they were testing with 5.13 gears though. 3.5psi of boost is supposed to get you another 50hp and 52 lbft of Tq to the wheels.
We shall soon see...

Hey Marcel, What caster angle did you set on your coil overs? And camber?? Thanks, Jack

the shocks are angled so at full compression they are as close to perpendicular to the radius arm and the beam as i could get them. i think the happy spot was like 88* for both

(y) Thanks Marcel. I'm guessin' we've got 2 different animals. If I go full compression at the track I'm sure I've got a problem! 😂 I went to K member (no radius or I beams) so My coil overs are layin' back at about 14* angle caster @ ride height. Appreciate the info.
BTW. I noticed there is some interest in Eaton Superchargers here. I'm still sittin' on my stock 2000 Lightning Eaton if there is??

haha full compression often happens out here when you find a rain washout at 60+mph. or when you find jumps!

some update pics of the truck. ive been using it almost every weekend this desert season. still continuing to tune the suspension and were getting the shocks working better and better each trip so truck truck is getting faster and faster through the big holes.
upgraded my front lights to some "cheap" amazon led bars that actually put out a good amount of light. im super happy with them for the price (~$100)
got the truck going a little too fast for my axles though. the combined power output of the sohc and the shock load of skipping across whoops at speed is too much for the 31 spline axles in the 9". i managed to break one axle at the splines and started to twist the other. upgrading those to 35 spline since a full floating fabricated 9" is just not in the budget right now.
anyways heres some pictures
