Got an e-mail from James Duff saying there are other SAS Kits in the works and will come along as designed.

I thought of a SAS in my 03 but again thought too much work.
Will wait and see.

I've always loved James Duff stuff, so this would be awesome and save alot of time.

Those with '98+ trucks are ones that really could benefit from a ready-to-go SAS kit. It'd be great to see one come available.

I'm not saying you are right or wrong but your email asked if they were working on a SAS kit for a 2nd gen ranger (89-92---same as my 1st gen explorer). They have been working on finishing the kit that is installed on my Explorer. The different generations are defined by body style not frames. That's why 93-97s are known as 3rd gens. The kit they have now fits 83-97 (or 1st-3rd gens). 98+ is a whole different ballgame mostly because of the changeover from rack & pinion steering to an actual frame mounted steering box.
They have a lot on their plate trying to keep up with demand. Since the Gearz episode aired with the Ted Nugent full size bronco, they have been swamped with requests to put the FSB SAS kit in production. It's not just making the parts, its making sure the parts will survive long term. That involves lots of testing and lots of road miles. Liability is a huge part in making these kits because not all of them go on trailer queens that only see dirt miles. You always have to think about the church bus full of nuns that is transporting the orphans to the pound to rescue puppies that is driving in the next lane. If one part isn't up to par it could spell disaster for a small company such as Duff's.

Not to mention the only way to make the parts is if you have a willing vehicle. I took my explorer to them and basically demanded a kit. I helped do the work, got huge discounts on all the parts, and go wheeling with the crew quite often. I didn't get exactly what I wanted but compromises had to be made to make a kit for mass production.

My suggestion to you is if you or your buddies want a kit, call them up and talk to them. Take them your vehicle (4th gen or newer) and say have at it. It may not come out perfect (we have tweaked mine a few times) but in the end everyone will be happy. You will have what you want much cheaper than anyone else and soon enough everyone else will be able to buy it.

I have recently installed the JD TB stage 3 5.5" kit on my 97 Ranger and wil say I could not be happier with a Product. I am sur eit wil live at least as long as my SJ Class 2 did.

The quality of the parts was second to none....
