My truck is in pretty serious need of new shocks, as a couple have holes in them and I need to replace the front anyway because I levelled it. The two I have been looking at are the shocks by James Duff, or the Nitro shocks by Skyjacker.

What I like about the JD are they are a little cheaper, and have 70/30 valving. They also seem to be built with a little thicker materials than others? Not sure about that though, I cannot find a lot of dimension specs on other shock brands.

The Skyjackers are a little more money, but are gas filled where I think the JD's are liquid filled (Also not sure about this). I would buy them from here though, so it would support the site, plus I think red is a cooler colour.

Im sure they are both good shocks for the money, and are both from very experienced and reputable companies. Anybody have any experience with one or the other?

I just put nitro Skyjackers on the front of my Ranger, I really like how it rides. I also put new radius arm bushings and springs on so I can't really say how big of an improvement just the shocks were. My old shocks were very shot though.

The front feels like a brand new truck, the rear feels goofy now. After I get the 8.8 in I will get a set of Skyjackers for it too.

Good to know. The Skyjackers soak up the street bumps and vibrations nicely?

I like them, the truck rides much better with them (and all the other work I did at the same time)

85_Ranger, did you get the hydro or nitro skyjacker shocks?

The ones I am looking at will be the Nitro's. I wish I could find somewhere in Canada that sells them at a reasonable price, so I can avoid all the extra shipping costs.
