Quiet, you!If your sticking with XP (I'm assuming 32 bit here x64 XP never really caught on) your going to have less than 3GB of you RAM usable, with 8GB of RAM and 1GB of VRAM you need a 64bit OS or it's just wasted. It may suck learning a new OS but there is really no reason for a home PC to buy all new hardware and run an outdated barely supported OS. Also since you bought a 460 I'd assume some gaming is planned (if not that card is way overkill) so note XP will leave you with no higher than DX9 while 7 will give you DX10 and 11.
And Vista isn't nearly as bad as most people seem to make it out to be (yeah it sucked at launch) but there is no reason to buy it now that 7 is out.
My 10 year old OS isn't quite done yet!
