Park is a manual lever that locks the output shaft at rear of an automatic transmission

Works like this: https://mikeduman.com/sites/default/files/shift_brake_park_operation_0.jpg

Looks like this when engaged: https://ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/parking-pawl.jpg

With tires blocked and pan off
Manually move the shifter arm on drivers side of transmission and look at the CAM on that shift rod on the inside of transmission
Looks like this: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/_6UX9itv1NM/sddefault.jpg

The solenoids do not cause transmission to go into "gear", the shifter does, the solenoids shift gears to 2, 3, 4, or 5
But 1st and Reverse, and Park are engaged mechanically by the shifter

Hum, I forgot I removed the drive shaft so could be that.

The issue was that the truck doesnt go in any gears though:unsure:

I just ordered a new ford solenoid, I'll see if it fix the issue.

Yes, so its not a solenoid issues

Solenoid issues are when it won't shift to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, ect...., or slips when shifting to these gears

I read that if solenoids are stuck open it wont build any pressure and could not go into gears at all. If I drop the valve body can I find more or its pointless ?

Its not the solenoids, its the VALVES that the solenoids control that can stick, so changing the solenoid probably wouldn't close the valve if it was "stuck open"
And that wouldn't effect Reverse per-say since it uses no solenoids

Yes, all automatics run on ATF pressure, so loss of pressure will for sure effect engaging 1st or Reverse
1st needs 120psi
Reverse 150psi<<<which is why losing or slow to engage Reverse is usually the first sign of a pressure issue in an automatic

So rebuilding Valve body with new valve seals, separator plate/gasket "might help"

Did you lose Reverse FIRST and then forward gears later?
If so that points to valve body pressure loss

If you lost both reverse and forward at the same time then not valve body issue
Could be torque converter, one-way clutch, or pump issue

These are all just "guesses", there are many interdependent systems in an automatic, which makes them hard to diagnose even for transmission experts, which I AM NOT

Good read here on your A4LD automatic: https://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/a4ld.shtml

Just a thought, see if driveshaft is spinning, may be blown ring/pinion,spider gears, or. axles
