Hi, I'm Frankie and I am the owner of a Ford Ranger that my Dad and I built out of an '01 and '02. It's been running great and I've had to do some repairs over the past couple years which has been typical but now I'm kind of stumped.

So upon starting my truck and occasionally while driving it there has been this beeping that happens about 5 or 6 times in a row. There is a check engine light on but nothing that would cause the beeping to happen. Last I knew it's got something to do with air flow, we're looking more into it soon. The strange thing about this beeping is that there is no warning light associated with it. It was doing it before my check engine light came back on after unplugging the battery. The only thing I've noticed is that the lights on the dash are starting to dim and a couple have blown. Yes, it will be so much fun tearing apart the dash this spring. Wondering if maybe the beeping has anything to do with the dash lights? Maybe totally unrelated.

Was wondering if any of you have dealt with this and might know what's up. Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Ah, I never even considered that! I don't think I do, but I will look into it! Thanks Jerry!

Check to see if the airbag warning lights have burnt out. That will sound a chime if the bulb circuit is open for either the one in the dash, or the passenger airbag light. It is somewhat common on that era to have the light bulb in the little pod with the key switch fail.
