So, I have acquired a ranger with a 302 in it.. but, the guy who was doing the work has basically grafted the parts of a f150 frame that has the suspension attached to it to the existing frame of the ranger...so now it is all f150 suspension parts. its definitely a custom.... has anybody heard of this? i cant seem to find anything about doing it... i can put pics up later when i get it to the shop.

I can't see how that can be done. At least not safely. I want to see those pics!

I have heard of narrowing F-150 axles to fit. I have heard of using F-150 springs for cheap lift. I have not seen putting the two frames together done yet.

He basically took the frame where any suspension is bolted on the f150, cut the frame sections, and welded it to the outside of the ranger frame, he said he measured the frames, and the inside f150 width was basically the outside ranger frame width so it fit together pretty good, i feel like if it is good and square it should be fine but, i dont think i want to do much offroading in it.... ill be working on it tomorrow so ill post pics of what i discover in there.. lol

I would rather off road something like than than on road it.

Coming apart at 3mph isn't quite as exciting as coming apart at 70mph.. :fie:

I see no pics. I have seen plenty of grafted frames over the years. Mostly on hot rods.

I see pics.

I don't think I would drive that on the road. Not because it's unsafe but because insurance would never cover that type of modification without an engineers report. Though I can't say it's safe either.
