@Uncle Gump
What size pop bottle?
Been awhile since I've done it... but 16oz/half liter. I should state that was used mainly to check mechanical fuel pumps... It was how I was taught by my mentor as a beginning mechanic. All these electric pumps probably have a volume spec you could test against.

Wow, i was right on for my memory. 1 pint equals 16oz. 1 pint in ten seconds for mechanical pump is what i remembered too.

I got to thinking the other day about a F-150 pump so I went on Oreilly's website to see if they show different pumps.

They actually list both the pressure (3lb for both) and flow rate (15gph for both)

1986 F-150 5.0

1986 Ranger 2.9

So not sure why they call for different pumps.

When it is not so freaking cold I do still plan to check the volume of this one but I think it kinda is what is.

Different pumps for different tanks...depth probably.
I've used f150 frame rail high pressure pumps on rangers and vice-versa. Could probably do the same with in tank pumps.

For anyone else that comes across this... It was the fuel pump.

Red Holley pump and it is a totally different truck.
