OK here's the story. i was being forced to rebuild my 2.9 in a weekend. that's pulled out rebuilt and put back in. so i was moving and the motor lost compression and would not start. so i tore the motor out and broke it down and cleaned it up. i ended up not getting it back to gather in the weekend. so i towed it to my new house job. and i was in a hurry to get it back to gather before work. and i think i might have forgotten to put in the rear main..... maybe but not sure yet. my 1986 ford ranger super 2.9 4x4 a/c will drive around town and not leak much oil. but if i go above 45 it looks like some one is pouring oil out of a jug threw my bell housing. how hard is it to replace the rear main with the engine still in the truck?
