What do you mean by 'convert a truck'?

You don't need to be mechanic; you just need to use common sense and we're here to help you with where to look/interpret the pictures you supply us.

As @JoshT indicates, the fact that distance between cab and box doesn't appear to be constant is red flag to us. As is the damage to the back of the fenders.
It's either bent box or bent frame.
And we need to see what is 'under the skin':
If the channels don't have nice straight sides/sit flat on the frame, then you have box issues
If you put straight edge (doesn't matter what it is, just so long as it is straight) on the frame; does it sit flat.

We need those couple additional pictures.

What part of California are you from? It's pretty big state :) (My company has plants in both LA and SF areas, that I can talk to locals about recommendations).
Thanks for your reply
I live in 91710 area code
I could go have the truck checked out again.
I am fairly certain i just have box issues

i don't have tons of experience but now that i can see your pictures, it does look like it was rear ended pretty badly. they put a new bumper on it and sent it down the road though.

the bed doesn't align to the cab properly, as noted previously, and the damage from the bumper being pushed into the bed, as noted previously.

it looks like it just pushed the back of the frame downwards because i don't see marks on the back of the cab, which happens when another vehicle tries to go under the back of a truck. the person didn't even try to hit the brakes when they hit your truck or their vehicle would have nose-dived under/level into the bumper, which would have pushed the whole thing forward putting dents on the back of your cab.

i would definitely ask a place that does those repairs, not a car lot. all the world motors i find on google are used car lots so they are for sure not a good place to have check your truck.

though, putting a straight bed on it will for sure tell you if its bent as the new bed will still not sit spaced properly from the cab.

can you just unbolt the bed and take some pics for everyone? the bed will tilt up very easily with a 2x4 holding it up if you undo the bed bolts and unhook the tail lights and fuel filler

yeah, a new box might be all you need. it sure doesn't look as bent as the bed, from that angle.

hopefully you are going to be good with another bed only. i would pass on that white one though, it looked terrible for the money. maybe just get a straight side bed for now and when you find a better stepside, swap it out?

Your right, maybe it would be easier to get a straight bed. Flaresides are harder to come by. I went on car parts.com and i have found a couple of them but i don't know if there good.

Your truck has been in a major rear end accident:

The broken fiberglass is where the rear bumper was crushed into the fender. Now, the bumper brackets are supposed to fail before the impact gets to the frame, but I'm quite nervous that you have frame damage.

Pictures of one of my Ranger frames:
1st picture isn't greatest as I have hitch on, but the point is the framing square sits flat against the frame from the back to where the frame curves up for the wheel arch.

2nd picture shows how the front of the frame should be flat as well

We also want to see if your box channels look like this or not

Mine is probably rustier than yours....
Can you paint your frame to help stop rust? Cause mine isn't perfect i was wondering how much it would be to do that. Unless i DIY it but that's a big job

I found a real nice 2003 box flareside I just want to double check and triple check that 1998-2003 beds will work perfectly correct it’s got a little rust on the bottom but otherwise looks good and it’s the right color idk if they will ship though I have to ask

All of the Flareside beds are the same. Keep your taillight harness and taillights (unless you like lights from another year Ranger).

Well i am going to go with the cracked white bed cause its closer to me in the end. Both Fenders are cracked so i am going to swap my fenders on it. The place were i bought it from gave me a nice deal on it. 1000$

For the Bed,Bed install, fender swap, molding swap, tailgate put on, lights put on and they will dispose of my old bed as well.

Otherwise i was going to have to have the bed ship to me. With no place to store it i might add. Then take it to a body shop then have them put it on then have them dispose of my old one. Which would cost more money and take more time. I also found it difficult to find a bed that was in good shape that can be shipped to me.

I am not a mechanic and don't really have anyone to help me go pull a bed from pick your part either. So i went with the deal hopefully this bed is at least better than what i have. I haven't seen beneath the bed liner yet. I got to take a look under there before having it installed. There isn't any rust on the bottom of it.

Both fenders being cracked i wonder what happen to it? The Bed part aside from the fenders looks straight compared to mine.

those cracks look like ones that happen from careless people pulling the bed off and just setting it down rough or something like that. they don't look like accident cracks.

I got the box on my truck with my fenders swapped on it and its way better than it was. i will post a picture some other time. I also took the truck to a collision specialist where they have a frame machine that checks if your vehicle is bent with targets and all that stuff. They also unbend frames there if your frame is bent. The mechanic there frame specialist im going to call him... told me that i just have box issues and my frame isn't bent in his opinion. He looked my car over climbed beneath it and drove the car and everything seems straight. He didn't want to put my truck on the frame checking machine because he felt it doesn't need to be done so that good enough for me
