Ignition

I read the sticky on getting the ignition cylinder out,but it didn't help. I already have the cylinder out,but the little thing on the bottom was broke off. Now I can't get the part in the steering column to the run position for everrything to line up. Don't know what to do. Anything you guys can tell me would help. It's and 85 Ranger.

Little thing on bottom? Could you get a pic of it? I replaced my ignition cylinder last week, but I'm not sure what thing you are talking about. (The one thing that I think it may be didn't seem like it could be broke off.)
