My key will not go all the way in. Truck starts and turns off, but I am able to pull the key out while it is running. ??????

It is a 97 Ranger with 205,000 miles so it is not a big deal to me if it doesn't become a big problem later.

Thats normal... the keys eventually get worn out and so does the ignition... My diesel only has like 130,000 miles and its already worn out probably cause it got used way more cause my old ranger has like 500,000 miles and it works perfectly still... Do you have a spare key thats not worn at all? If you do try that one and see if it still does it, if not then make a couple copies of it.
