The ignition switch cylinder on the steering column is quite literally locked in the 'LOCK' position. I can't start my truck! I can't even take the cylinder out since it won't turn. This is on an '86 Ranger. Anyone have this happen before? Any advice or technical tips anyone can give me here? I'd hate to have it towed to a mechanic for a problem like this.

work try to turn the steeringwheel to the left and try the key, then try to the right. you may need really put alittle muscle behind it to get it to the unlock position.

I think you'll solve your problem, too, if you do as he said... you'd be surprised how many people, don't know, or realize this tecnique... good luck, it should work, try it...
