hey yall, i got a 88 ranger 2.9 5speed 4x4. its the stx package, but no power windows. the starter solnoid went out so i replaced it. i have power going to it but nothing going to the starter, starter works if i jump it with a screw driver, but the truck wont work by turning the key, no power at all, no dome light or anything. i got a new ignition switch im going to try. were is the ignition switch? can anyone point my in the right direction? the connections are all good and its not grounding out anywere. its just not getting juice to the starter or anything else.

Is there 3 or 4 posts on the new solenoid? If 4 try switching to the other small post. If it worked fine before the old solenoid quit, you might have gotten a bad solenoid. Not unheard of.

ill give that a try. this is the 3rd one ive tryed.my old one had 3 posts, the new one has 4. does anyone have a pic of the solenoid? i want to use it soi can make shure i put the wires in the right spot. any help asap would be greatful

I suspect you won't need to have any wire to the I terminal. Your ignition switch in the crank position should send power to the S terminal.
